THE SCHOLARSHIP

The American Nurse Project seeks to encourage and elevate nurses in as many ways as possible. One aspect of that work includes the establishment of The American Nurse Scholarship Fund with a portion of the proceeds from the movie.  The Fund is managed by the The American Nurses Foundation.

Proceeds provide annual scholarships for nursing students nationally. Contributions to the Fund match funding available through the American Nurses Association’s state nursing organizations.

Beginning in 2013, proceeds from the sale of the book, The American Nurse, were given by Fresenius Kabi to the American Nurses Foundation and were used in support of five innovative teams of nurses at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. The goal of the Children’s nursing teams was to encourage projects related to advancing nursing knowledge, improving quality of care and exploring evidence-based practice.

You can join us in supporting nurses across the country by donating directly or purchasing the book and the film. Help us give the gift of education.
